We are seeking an individual who is eager to learn and has the desire to become a well-rounded structural engineer. You will join a respected structural group who will provide you with opportunities to work on a variety of assignments.

On any given day, you will: 

• Work under the supervision of senior structural engineering staff to design and prepare plans for bridges, buildings, piers, boardwalks, retaining walls, and other structures.
• Perform structural design and analysis of steel, concrete, and timber structural elements utilizing structural software. 
• Prepare CADD drawings and check plan details. 
• Perform bridge load ratings.
• Research and apply code requirements.
• Prepare cost estimates, technical reports and specifications for bridges and other structures. 
• Responsibilities may include occasionally assisting with structural inspections and construction observation, potentially requiring short-term (1-2 weeks) out of town travel and overnight stays. Field work is anticipated to be infrequent.

Required qualifications: 

• A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in structural engineering.
• Passed the Fundamental of Engineering exam (FE).
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record required.

Desired skills and experiences: 

• Professional registration a plus.
• Experience with drafting and various types of structural design software.
• Master’s degree in structural engineering a plus.
• Good communication and listening skills.
